Meet Dr. Christina Mueller
Dr. Christina Mueller is a board-certified pediatric dentist and the founder of Springtown Pediatric Dentistry in San Marcos, TX. Her approach to pediatric dentistry is centered on prevention, strong relationships, and helping children feel safe and comfortable while receiving the care they need.
A sixth-generation Texan and second-generation pediatric dentist, Dr. Mueller developed an early appreciation for the difference thoughtful dental care can make in a child’s health and confidence. Today, she combines her pediatric dental training with a background in public health to look beyond a child’s teeth and consider their overall growth, development, habits, and long-term oral health.
Dr. Mueller has a special interest in preventive care, early growth and development, and pediatric airway health. She believes that identifying concerns early and helping families understand their options can often make dental care simpler and more comfortable as children grow.
As both a pediatric dentist and a mom, Dr. Mueller understands how much trust parents place in the person caring for their child. Her goal is to create a dental home where children feel comfortable, parents feel heard, and families have the information they need to make confident decisions about their child’s care.
Education & Advanced Pediatric Training
Dr. Mueller began her education at Southern Methodist University, where she attended on a full athletic scholarship and competed on the track and field team as a discus thrower. She graduated with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Biology.
After college, she continued her education in San Antonio, earning a master’s degree in public health from the University of Texas School of Public Health–San Antonio. Her public health background continues to influence the way she practices today, with an emphasis on prevention, education, and considering the broader factors that can affect a child’s health.
Dr. Mueller completed dental school in San Antonio in 2015. After graduation, she worked in a pediatric dental office in Corpus Christi, where her interest in caring for children developed into a commitment to pediatric dentistry.
In 2018, she returned to San Antonio for advanced specialty training in pediatric dentistry, completing the program in June 2020. She later became a board-certified pediatric dentist. Her advanced training also includes conscious sedation, giving her additional options for supporting children who may need extra help completing dental treatment safely and comfortably.
Her Approach to Treating Children
Every child comes to the dentist with a different personality, comfort level, dental history, and set of needs. Dr. Mueller believes pediatric dental care should reflect those differences rather than taking the same approach with every patient.
She uses patience, creativity, and clear communication to build trust with children over time. Treatment recommendations are made conservatively, with an emphasis on prevention and the least invasive appropriate option whenever possible.
Parents are an important part of that process. Dr. Mueller takes time to explain what she sees, why treatment may or may not be needed, and what families can do at home to support their child’s oral health.
